Sleep Paralysis screened at the Circle City Film Festival
What a great time we had at the circle city film festival! I have been meaning to get around to writing about it but it has sure been a busy time with festival season upon us! The Circle City film festival was a festival in it's first year so it was hard to know what to expect. Luckily as a filmmaker with a film screening we had "ALL ACCESS" passes. This means we could go to all the events and watch all the films screening! It also meant we were invited to the Chelsey Awards, the award ceremony which was a formal event.
It was really cool to have all the events to go to to learn about and hear from other filmmakers and ask questions. There was something for just about everybody, actors, filmmakers, and even make up artists got in on the conversations. The films all screened inside of a theatre on the west side of Indianapolis, called Georgetown Cinema 14. It is a privately owned theatre and was a nice enough venue with plenty of room and nice staff. They even gave us a discount on the pocorn and a drink combo for $5. To top it off, they kicked the event off with a mixer so we could get to know each other with free wine! Always a win in my book.
There were many films that I very much enjoyed at the festival. Some of the ones that really stood out to me were 'Grateful', 'Innocence Lost Purpose Found', and 'Sea-Tectives' (a really funny animated film). Unsurprinsingly 'Grateful' took Best Documentary, 'Innocence Lost Purpose Found' took audience choice (congrats again Duane), and 'Sea-Tectives' won Best Animated film. I personally congratulated all the winning filmmakers I could at the Chelsey Awards. There were so many talented individuals at this festival and it was an honor to be screened there. Unfortunately Sleep Paralysis did not win anything, I admit it is a hard film to categorize, but just being selected and being screened was amazing. I would like to thank Rasheda again for hosting the festival and giving us all an opportunity to enjoy it! What a blast that was!
I hope you all have a great day! Smile and chase your dreams!
